What is Sparkframe?
Sparkframe is a communication service integrated directly with your building information model. This allows your design team to converse and discuss in real-time while referencing and linking to actual digital model elements.
Also, Sparkframe provides element-based task management and screenshots.
How will Sparkframe help me?
Ever wanted to attach a BIM element to an email? Ever felt lost when jumping on to an in-progress project? Want to attach screenshots to Revit elements? Want to discuss in real-time with the design team on a Revit model? Would you like an easy way to record your design decisions and intentions? Need to stop meeting items from falling through the cracks?
Sparkframe does all this and more. It fills the wide gap between your email inbox and your building information model. It puts the spark in your BIM collaboration.
How does Sparkframe provide markups?
Sparkframe lets users attach any image or screenshot to their conversations, and these images can be drawn on using simple tools. So to mark up a view from Revit, simply press Print Screen on your keyboard, attach the image to the conversation, and mark it up.

Why do people say Sparkframe is better than email?
If design teams could have the best of BIM and email, that would be Sparkframe. Whereas email may reference a model in words, Sparkframe references the model and elements themselves. This means real-time, live, consistent linking and attachments between team conversations and BIM elements. In the same way, screenshots and tasks are no longer in an email inbox separated from your model. With Sparkframe, they live with a persistent connection to your actual model.
Of course, email is indispensable for every-day communications. But if you want to get the most out of BIM collaboration, you need a real link between discussions and models, and that link is Sparkframe.
Is everything stored in my Revit model file?
Not at all. In fact, everything is stored in the cloud, which means several great benefits: no security worries, no space limitations, and all your information is accessible from any web-connected device like phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops.
The Sparkframe Add-In for Autodesk Revit 2013 and 2014 serves as the conduit between the Sparkframe service and your Revit model, meaning your model will not grow one kilobyte due to Sparkframe.
